"We wanted a concrete pool in The Woodlands that fit a tight backyard. Liquid Therapy Pools walked the yard with us, laid out our options and gave us a clear proposal before work began. The crew kept us updated the whole way. Our kids barely leave the water now."

"Our pool in Spring was stained and rough on the feet, so we called about resurfacing. They talked us through color and finish options first, which meant no surprises later. The water looks clean and bright, and our weekends start at the pool again."

"Our Kingwood pool needed more than a patch job. Liquid Therapy Pools planned a full remodel and showed us the layout, scope and pricing up front. The crew respected our home and kept the site tidy. It feels like a brand-new backyard without starting over."

Pool Resurfacing

Replace a Rough, Stained Pool Finish

Pool resurfacing in North Houston, Tomball and Huntsville. We replace rough, stained and peeling pool finishes with a fresh interior surface. Every finish wears out eventually, and Texas sun, heavy use and unbalanced water can speed that up. Resurfacing is a focused project: it renews the surface you swim on without changing the pool’s shape, tile or deck unless you want it to. Request a Consultation, it’s free.

Easy on Feet Again: A worn finish scrapes toes, snags swimsuits and gets complaints every time someone climbs out. A new surface is smooth to the touch again, so the pool feels as good as it looks from the patio.

A Cleaner-Looking Pool: Stains, chalky patches and faded color make perfectly clean water look dirty, no matter how often you brush. Resurfacing brings back an even, fresh color, and you get to choose the look you want.

Fix the Cause First: Leaks and cracks in the shell have to be repaired before a new surface goes on. Ask about them up front, so you're not paying to cover a problem that comes back.

Backyard inspiration: curved submerged pool steps beneath clear water, with a pale interior and stone coping.

What Resurfacing Cost Depends On

Pool size, the finish you choose and the prep the old surface needs set the price, which is why online averages swing so much. Steps, benches and an attached spa add surface area. Send a few photos and a rough size with your request, and we'll talk through options at a free consultation.

Resurfacing Won't Fix a Leak

A new finish covers the shell. It doesn't seal leaking plumbing, lights or skimmers, and it won't hold a cracked shell together. If you're losing water or see cracks running through the structure, those get fixed first. Planning bigger changes, like tile or a new deck? See Pool Renovation & Remodeling.

Signs Your Pool Needs Resurfacing

Rough to the Touch

Run a hand along the wall. If it feels like sandpaper or snags a swimsuit, the finish is wearing out.

Stains That Won't Lift

Stains that don't brush or treat out, plus chalky or faded patches, point to a tired finish.

Flaking or Hollow Spots

Spots that flake, pit or sound hollow when tapped mean the finish is pulling away from the shell.

Will resurfacing fix a leak or cracks?

Not on its own. Many leaks come from plumbing, fittings, lights or the skimmer, and a new finish won't seal those. Hairline cracks in the finish can be handled during resurfacing, but cracks in the shell itself need a structural repair first. Find and fix the source before the new surface goes on. Otherwise you're paying to cover a problem that will come back.

What affects the cost of resurfacing a pool?

Three things: the size of the interior, the finish you choose and how much prep the old surface needs. Plaster is typically the most affordable finish. Quartz and pebble finishes cost more and usually last longer. Steps, benches and an attached spa add surface area. Peeling or cracked areas add prep. Ask each bidder whether tile, prep and startup are included so you're comparing the same job.

How do I know if my pool needs resurfacing?

Run your hand along the wall. If the surface feels rough, snags swimsuits or scrapes feet, it's wearing out. Other signs: stains that won't brush or treat out, chalky or faded patches, small pits, and spots that flake or sound hollow when tapped. Not every stain means resurfacing, though. Mineral scale and metal stains can often be treated with chemicals first.
