What does a pool remodel include?
Anything from a new interior finish to a full backyard makeover. Common upgrades include new tile and coping, a resurfaced interior, a larger or new deck, LED lighting, a spa, water features, a tanning ledge and newer pumps or filters. Most remodels start with what's worn out, then add the changes you've wanted for years. Doing it all in one project means the deck only gets torn up once.
Can water features or a spa be added during a pool remodel?
Usually, and a remodel is the best time to do it. Adding a spa, waterfall or deck jets means running new plumbing and often cutting into the deck. If the deck is being replaced anyway, that work is simpler and leaves no patch marks. The main limits are the space around the pool, what your current equipment can handle and how the pool's structure was built.
What is the difference between pool resurfacing and remodeling?
Resurfacing replaces the interior finish, the surface you swim on. Remodeling goes further: tile, coping, deck, features, and sometimes the pool's shape or depth. If the finish is rough or stained but you still like the pool, resurfacing is probably enough. If the pool no longer fits how you use the backyard, a remodel is worth pricing. Many remodels include resurfacing anyway.
